Day Two
Tuesday, July 23, 2002
Well, we survived the first day without luggage. Everyone has had such great attitudes and have really been pitching in and helping one another and it was really a time when God reminded all of us of who is actually in charge of this mission. We have never really been in control. We just think we are sometimes.
I'm happy to announce that most of our luggage just arrived. We are still missing 3 pieces of luggage. The pieces we are missing will not prevent the necessary ministry from occurring although our face paints did not arrive. So, please pray for the other 3 pieces to arrive tomorrow. Thanks.
Also, the harvest has already begun with a drug addict named Oleg that I got to witness to tonight in an area of town called Military town. I accompanied Paul to a Bible Study in that part of town that they just began last week. After the study was over, we walked across the street to a place where the soldiers come out and smoke. Paul said there were 20 guys out there last week, so we walked over. No one was there. After a few minutes a few people showed up, and Paul asked me to share my testimony. So, I began to share and just as I was getting to the invitation to ask Jesus into their lives, half the people left. I was not sure if I should continue or what, but I did. As I was finishing up another of the guys got up and I thought he was going to leave too. He didn't he came over to me and wanted to talk. I talked to him for about 45 minutes. His name is Oleg and he was an atheist and a drug addict. After sharing with him, he gave his life to Jesus and I believe the Lord set him free from his drug addiction too. The first fruit of our trip. Thank God!
Tomorrow we go to Uditse, a town not far from here where there is a terrible orphanage. We were there last year too. The children are precious, but the conditions they live in are absolutely horrible. We will do a children's festival and get to share a lot of ministry with these kids. Pray that many come to know Christ.
Thanks for you prayers. We love you and we all miss you. Just so you know, all of your loved ones are doing splendidly. They all send their love.
