Psalm 51:16-17
You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Children's Festivals
We did 3 Children's Festivals, one in Udytze, at the orphanage there and 2 days in Priluki. The Festivals consisted of several groups rotating through different activities. You will find the pictures organized by the categories of the Festivals.

Games
Some of the missionaries with Paul's group organized games for the kids to play as one of the segments of the Festival. They all seemed to have a great time.

Crafts
Fran and others put together different crafts that corresponded to the Bible story that would be taught that day. The kids all loved the crafts and I think the people who helped loved helping too.

Music
Evelyn, LaDonna and Angela sang songs with hand motions with the children in the Children's Festivals. The kids always had a lot of fun. They even sang songs in Russian. We would hear the kids walking around after the festivals still singing the songs that they taught them. It was great! Joseph and Victoria (part of Paul Sisemore's team) also helped.

Bible Story
Denise and Fran along with Anya (one of the interpreters) took turns sharing a Bible story with each festival. Many children heard the gospel story and prayed to receive Jesus during this part of the Festival.

Face Painting
Ally, Beth, Camille, Galey, Lyle and Whitney all helped with the face painting portion of the Children's Festival. This was quite a big hit with the kids. The artists would paint different things on the faces of the children that would correspond with the gospel story that was being presented. The kids loved it. I think the face paint artists loved it too.

Make Up
This was a "one time" part of the first Children's Festival that we did. At the orphanage in Udytze, Stephanie (one of the resident missionaries who was a regular to the orphanage) told us that the older girls never participated in anything that they did when they came out to minister in the orphanage. We began to think about this and thought that maybe we could do something with make up and perfume and things like that which these girls would enjoy. This would hopefully be our avenue to share the gospel with them. Well, as you can see in these pictures, it was a great success and all of these girls ended up praying to receive Jesus because of this practical ministry in their lives.
